Children's Theatre Instructor/Director

The Avenue Road Arts School is looking for an experienced theatre instructor to co-teach and co-direct an after school Drama Company-style class (ARAS Young Drama Company) for grades 5-9.

The ideal candidate should:

• possess a degree with a specialist or major in theatre
• have previous experience teaching drama to children and youth
• have experience directing children in a theatrical presentation
• possess some professional experience as an actor
• have some knowledge of the technical aspects of theatre
• be available Tuesday's from 4:00-6:30 PM and some Fridays for shows
• have basic first aid training and be willing to have a police record check

This position is a part-time, contract position for fall, winter and spring 2008-2009, with the possibility of renewal for the next academic year.
