Ceramic Sculpture
Diane
Hamilton
Join in the experience of expressing yourself through clay. Discover the stress relieving qualities this tactile medium has on your well-being. Students work in stoneware and earthenware clay, using techniques such as pinching, coiling, slab construction, modeling and throwing on a potter's wheel. Along with clay building, students are encouraged to experiment with exciting glaze combinations on both functional and sculptural pieces. A deeper understanding of form and surface will be developed, through an awareness of historical and contemporary ceramic work. Students' individual needs and experience level will be met in this class, beginner to advanced.
