Discounts
Students who register in the fall for a minimum of one class in each of the fall, winter & spring terms will be entitled to a 5% discount off one winter & one spring class. ARAS Members in good standing receive an additional discount. Get the details.
HST
Applicable HST (13%) will be added to all classes.
Payment Plans
Payment plans can be arranged for those registering for more than one term or for those registering more than one family member in one term. Digital Photography

In this course, students will learn to confidently use their digital cameras to capture artistic and compelling photographic images. Students will be introduced to basic photographic techniques such as framing, lighting, and composition while learning to use their camera's built in semi-automatic and manual controls. In-class slide lectures and practical demonstrations will be accompanied by weekly assignments and field trips in which students will learn to practically employ the techniques and concepts covered in class. All levels of experience in this class are welcome.
Please note: Students are required to provide their own digital camera, which must be capable of shooting in Manual mode. No previous photographic experience is needed although a basic knowledge of your digital camera and a working knowledge of computer operation with regular access to a computer is necessary. Students who wish to explore this course for more than one term will be accommodated with appropriate challenges to meet their skill level.

Digital Photography II

This course is designed for students with a good understanding of digital photography who would like to develop their artistic and photographic skills. Students will expand upon their existing technical knowledge base, while strengthening their artistic voices through a combination of in-class slide lectures, demonstrations, and a series of thematic and self-directed assignments with the guidance and support of the instructor and peers. Digital image manipulation and editing will also be discussed. This course can be helpful for students interested in building a portfolio or body of work.
Intro to Digital Photography is advised but not mandatory.
Please note: All students are required to provide their own digital camera capable of shooting in manual mode, such as a digital SLR or an advanced point and shoot camera. A working laptop with image editing software is not mandatory but will be helpful during the image manipulation portion of the course. However, regular access to a computer is necessary. Students who wish to explore this course for more than one term will be accommodated with appropriate challenges to meet their skill level.
