After School Art Explorer's Club (JK - Grade 6)

Does your child attend Brown Junior Public School or do you require an earlier after school program time than 4:30pm? We will pick up children from Brown Junior Public School at 3:00pm (participants are picked up from the School office) or parents/caregivers with children at other schools can drop-off early. Kids in our club program will enjoy a snack, organized games and activities, and they will also work on an art project that explores different materials each week. For kids staying to enjoy another after school program, we ensure that they get to their 4:30pm Arts School class! Otherwise, children can be picked up at the Arts School at 4:30pm.

Offered: Monday-Friday, 3:00-4:30pm

Comic Book Studies
(Grades 1-4 & Grades 5-8)

with Louie Kang

This program offers students a chance to draw comic books in a variety of different styles, including Japanese manga, traditional super hero, and underground experimental. The class will learn to adapt stories into graphic narratives and complete a finished comic, drawing inspiration from comic books and other forms of art like music, movies, and video games. Focus will be on colour theory, perspective, dynamic human figure drawing and composition, while students will have the opportunity to create works that represent their ideas using powerful composition, dramatic lighting and expressive design. Heroes, villains, scary monsters, and space aliens that want to take over the world will come to life in this hands-on program.
