For the budding performer or the young actor wanting to learn more about acting in a fun and supportive class setting. Improvisation, theatre games, developing characters and using voice and movement make up this dynamic acting program. Students are encouraged to join for more than one term as the class will work together to create a different presentation at the end of each session.

Singing Workshop (Gr. 3-7)
Nicky Phillips
Designed for the budding vocalist or young singer wanting to learn more about singing in a fun and supportive class setting, this class will introduce students to both a popular repertoire, as well as music from well-known musical theatre shows. Students will develop and work on vocal techniques while preparing and performing a number of musical pieces within the class. Both solo and ensemble work will be explored as singers develop a healthy singing technique.

Acting for Film & TV (Gr. 3-12)

If you've always wanted to be on television or on film, then this class is for you! Through improvisation, students will gain a better understanding of creating a character, working with a script and having a great on-camera presence. Each term will present different skill-building exercises and will continue to prepare students for performing and auditioning. The class will produce a short on-camera piece every semester and copies will be given to each participant.

Exploring Drama & Musical Theatre (Gr. 2-5)
Nicky Phillips
Students will enjoy exploring drama and musical theatre in this performance-based class. Using improvisation, drama exercises, vocal and movement studies and script work, performers will develop and work on creating a show as their final performance. Parents and friends will enjoy the final presentation, which will incorporate popular numbers from musical theatre in a truly unique and inventive presentation. As the shows are student inspired, show content will vary term by term

Filmmaking (Gr. 6-9)

In this class, aspiring film-makers will get the chance to write, direct and star in a collaborative film. The program will explore developing a story, script writing, storyboarding, acting techniques for film, film terminology and basic cinematography. All students will receive an edited copy of the movie on DVD at the end of each term.
