Theatre & Stage Design (Gr. 4-8)

Barbara Lilker

Before the curtain rises and the spotlights shine down on the actors, designers spend years envisioning the creative concepts behind some of the world's most beautiful theatres and stages, as well as designing the sets that bring stories to life. Using multimedia techniques, students will explore the fundamentals of architectural and set design: bringing his or her unique ideas into the design concepts and creation of their very own theatre and stage, from an abstract concept to a clear representation of that idea in model and drawing form. Students will design their mini-stage and set around their favourite story or play.
