The Enchanting World of Peter Rabbit and Beatrix Potter

Enjoy a week of art, drama, music and fun while exploring the delightful and enchanting world of Peter Rabbit and his menagerie of friends. Tools of the Trade

In this workshop, we will focus on the technical side of creating a painting. Primarily, we will use colour theory to learn how to mix any colour on your palette. Students will learn how to identify hue, value and chroma when painting and avoid some of the pitfalls of painting, like creating 'mud' on your palette. In addition, we will examine the different pigments, understanding where they fall on the colour wheel and how and when to properly use them. Students will also learn proper brush handling and techniques. Lastly, we will look closely at the materials of painting-understanding the different types and uses of brushes, mediums, varnishes and painting surfaces. Suited for both oil and acrylics, students will gain useful knowledge that can be applied to both representational and abstract forms of painting.

Digital Photography (Intensive)

In this intensive workshop, students will learn to confidently use their digital cameras to capture artistic and compelling photographic images. Students will be introduced to basic photographic techniques such as framing and composition while learning to use their camera's semi-automatic and manual controls. In-class slide lectures and simple assignments will be accompanied by practical demonstrations and field trips in which students will learn to practically employ the techniques and concepts covered in class. All levels of experience in this class are welcome.

Guests' parents are encouraged to drop off their children and are welcome to wait in our waiting room for the duration of the party.

    Refunds & Cancellations

    Clothing

    Children must come dressed appropriately, ready to make art. Smocks are not provided and children may get messy.

    Timing

    Please be on time, as the party will begin at the stated time. An adult will be expected to wait in the lobby for late-comers.
