ARAS logoa new online forum
Here's an opportunity to become more involved with the Avenue Road Arts School from the comfort of your home. If you have access to a personal computer, you can visit our new interactive online message board: Splatter! You can easily communicate with an instructor about a course, or pose questions regarding a materials list; sell unused art supplies or purchase some for a real bargain; even organize car pools with other students to help ease parking lot tensions. [please note: the forum is no longer active]

Now, not only can you view the entire course calendar and register online – but using the forum, you can even advertise information about upcoming events, submit constructive comments regarding our programs and share your opinion on a variety of art-related topics. The online message board gives our students and our staff easy access to the happenings at the School and a chance to meet each other – virtually.

Splatter! So, register yourself as a user and start posting your notes. Once registered, you can adjust your profile to view a different style of board, join a Usergroup and send private messages to other members. For security reasons, certain categories are restricted, allowing only students, parents, teachers and administration access to the information.

Please visit the FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) section in the top left-hand corner of the message board to have many of your questions answered. If you are not familiar with online forums, or if all of this sounds completely foreign, please do not hesitate to call the school at 416-961-1502 ext. 0, and ask for help getting started. It's easy once you try and you may soon find yourself hooked! Splatter! gives you the opportunity to get organized and do what you love to do – talk and make art – 24 hours a day.

AFC logonew board of advisors for AFC
Much of Arts for Children's success over the past few years can be credited to its hard working staff and its top notch Board of Directors. Their leadership has moved the organization into a new phase of growth. And most importantly, their work has had a meaningful impact on the lives of thousands of children.

We are pleased to announce that a stellar group of Toronto arts professionals have agreed to join Arts for Children of Toronto's Advisory Board – a much appreciated seal of approval for our Scholarship and Outreach Programs. This esteemed group has joined forces to support the important work of AFC. It includes: Andy Barrie, Susan Coyne, David Cronenberg, Peter Herrndorf, David Mirvish, Charles Pachter, Walter Pitman, Jackie Richardson, Albert Schultz, Sam Sniderman, Michael Snow, Margaret Wente and Ann Wilson.

In early February 2005, AFC will host an evening to welcome our new advisors to the Toronto community. Guests will include our Board of Directors, local school principals from both the Toronto and Catholic Boards, social service agencies, community leaders, funders and the media. AFC is excited to be entering this next stage of its development and is thrilled to have the support of its new advisors. Our Honorary Board of Advisors will certainly raise the profile of Arts for Children and, in turn, benefit the children we serve.
