Since the doors to the Arts School opened in 1993, approximately 800 children have participated in enriching arts programming on scholarship. Under the guidance of professional artists/instructors, who inspire and instruct, these children and teens have discovered a talent inside themselves, which otherwise may have gone untapped. Until now, the Scholarship Program has been administered by Arts for Children of Toronto. AFC has now decided to focus on Outreach and Camp programs for kids from underserved parts of the city. Establishing a separate scholarship fund has enabled the Arts School to continue this rewarding tradition. To be eligible for a scholarship, children between the ages of 6 and 18 must show an interest and ability in drama or visual art, as well as demonstrated financial need. This fund will make it possible for children who otherwise would not be in a position to do so, to develop their talents. If you would like to make a difference in the self-esteem and future accomplishments of a child, consider directing your next donation to the Arts Scholarship Fund. The easiest way to donate is to visit the Scholarship Fund page on our site or check off the donation box the next time you register for a program at the School, or call the school at 416-961-1502, ext. 303. Stay tuned for upcoming fun and unique fundraising events!
Camila, now aged 17, has been taking classes on scholarship
