While experimenting with an exciting variety of artist's tools,
media and techniques, students will learn to explore and trust
their imaginations and creative instincts. Working from still
life, photographs and images from art history, students will
be introduced to specific drawing and painting fundamentals and
techniques. These include line, value, shape, pattern, texture,
shading, highlighting, colour perspective and collage. Young
artists will further develop their artistic skills while discovering
their own personal style.

Making a Musical (Gr. 3-6)

In this lively workshop, young performers will learn all the elements
that make up a musical theatre performance. Broadway classics will
inspire students as they learn the basics of movement and choreography,
singing and acting and how they work together to help tell a story
in musical theatre. The cast will work with different songs and
musical styles to create a revue-style presentation for family
and friends on the last class.

Pop artists, like Andy Warhol and Roy Lichenstein to create their
own Pop Art that reflects ideas from today's popular culture.
