CONTEMPORARY LANDSCAPE PAINTING
Designed for those interested in developing their own style in the landscape genre. Students will look to a variety of historic styles and contemporary approaches to establish your artistic voice. Students will work from a photo reference and explore the fundamentals of landscape painting including composition, perspective, fore-/mid-/background and landmark representation, colour mixing and paint application to achieve transitions, contrast and sense of depth. Students can choose to paint in either oils or acrylics. Painting techniques, such as palette knife application and blending, the expression of light and shadow, mood and colour will be addressed. Students will produce several canvases of their chosen size.
