Explore the concepts behind abstract painting, using the transparency of watercolour paint. You will be encouraged to use experimentation and be spontaneous in the development of your own painting ideas, while you discover freedom in your painting style and learn to approach subject matter in a new way. Plenty of photo references of contemporary and modern art will be provided to illustrate how composition, balance, colour, form and symbolism make abstract and modern art paintings into powerful art pieces. You will learn colour mixing and theory and the use of watercolour brushes. Weekly demonstrations will be provided in this online adult painting class, as you explore techniques such as making washes, painting wet-into-wet and using resist processes, as well as learning the fundamentals of composition and perspective. This virtual class is appropriate for both the beginner and intermediate painter who would like a refresher program.

"Thank you Sadko for the amazing learning experience this past week. My enjoyment of, and commitment to learning Watercolour has never been greater. I feel that I made more progress in this one week than I achieved in three other painting classes, combined! I look forward to taking other classes with you.” - Martin
