This course offers students a balance of learning the building blocks of drawing and painting as well as the power of expressive application of the media through understanding form, light and colour by dissecting what we see and feel. While learning how to manipulate pigment to allow for all types of possibilities, you will learn how to identify and practice scale, composition and brushwork, through demonstrations and hands-on learning, as well as understand light and contrast through greyscale and colour. The online art course for beginners will be structured to include shorter to longer prompts, where students will be exposed to drawing and painting techniques and a range of subjects inspired by a variety of artistic movements.
