This open-studio virtual class is designed for students wishing to develop their own painting style and body of work with the assistance from a professional artist. You will work on paintings and subjects of your own choosing and can paint in oil or acrylic. This will be complemented with demonstrations and discussions intended to enhance the direction of your work. Topics may include, resolving compositional problems, creating harmonious colour, the technical aspects of layering a painting vs. working alla prima, and more. You will receive plenty of one-on-one instruction to develop a personal artistic direction, whether you feel you have one or are looking to create one.

For Acrylic Paints:

- Strippable palette (this is the kind that has multiple sheets you can tear off and throw away)
For Oil and Acrylic:
- Palette knife (2 or 3 inches)
- Canvas boards or canvas paper pad
- Rags or paper towels
For Oil:
- Odourless thinner for oils
- Reusable sealable brush washer (optional)
- Linseed oil
- Griffin Alkyd medium (fast drying medium)
