- Sketchbook - regular sketchbook, 9”x12” or 20 sheets of 8.5”x11” white paper
- Watercolour paper pad, 8”x10” or 9”x12” (examples: Fabriano Studio Watercolour pad 20 sheets/$6.49; Royal-Langnickel Essentials Artist Paper 25 sheets/$5.50; Canson Watercolour Paper Pad XL 30 sheets/$10.)
- Tracing paper - Canson brand, 9”x12” Foundation Series [substitute: transparent acrylic/plastic sheets)
MEDIA & TOOLS:
- Graphite pencils HB, 2B, [4B optional]
- Watercolour paints or watercolour pencil set (a starter set of 12 colours including red, yellow, medium blue, black is fine.)
- Pencil sharpener (not rotary or electric)
- Set of 3 to 6 beginners Taklon (synthetic) watercolour paint brushes including flat brush (1/4”) & 2 round pointed brushes sizes 0 & 3 (examples: Dollarama Studio brand, Royal-Langnickel beginners set, Princeton #3750 select Artiste Brush sets)
- 2 water containers about (about 250mL capacity - filled 1/3 full)
- Regular coloured pencils (yellow, red, blue, black, white)
- Wax crayon - white, or white oil pastel or uncoloured wax candle
- Permanent fine line marker - black
- White vinyl/plastic eraser
- Blender stick - also called a tortillon, stomp or stump) - substitute: kleenex and q-tips
- Ruler
- Blow dryer [optional]
- Spray bottle with fine mist option (mini or medium size)
- Paper towels
- A small amount of table salt &/or coarse Kosher salt
