
For the complete beginner and those wishing to improve their drawing skills, this online class will refine your understanding of visual language through various drawing exercises. Using charcoal pencils, charcoal sticks, and coloured media, you’ll begin to develop your drawing and creative skills, and become more confident with the tools of visual expression. You will learn how to identify and practice scale, composition, perspective, and value through demonstrations and hands-on learning. Learn to understand light and contrast through greyscale and colour.

- Sketchbook (60-90lb paper, 9"x12" or larger)
- 2B and 4B lead pencils
- Pad of newsprint
- 2B and 4B charcoal pencils
- 1 box Willow charcoal (different thicknesses)
- Variety of colouring media (such as colouring pencils, oil pastels and/or chalks)
