Explore drawing and painting exercises that aim to build skill, and expand your creativity. You will work with graphite and watercolour pencils while exploring a variety of drawing and painting techniques. Students will work with creative exercises and learn to create finished paintings. This online course is a colourful way to help you refine art techniques and gain confidence, incorporating core skills into all your artwork, and mastering the elements of art and design.

- Sketchbook (9"x12") or 25 sheets of 8.5"x11" white paper
- Watercolour paper pad 8"x10" or 9"x12" (ex. Fabriano Studio Watercolour pad, Royal-Langnickel
Essentials Artist Paper, Canson Watercolour Paper Pad XL)
- 2B & 4B graphite pencil (optional: 4B, 6B or a pack)
- Watercolour pencil set (12 colours including red, yellow, medium blue, black)
- Set of 3 to 6 beginners synthetic Taklon watercolour brushes (including a flat brush [1/4"], and two round pointed brushes sizes 0 & 3)
- Unused toothbrush or other stiff bristle brush
- Pencil crayons
- Wax crayons or oil pastels
- White vinyl plastic eraser
- Stomp/Paper blender stick (or q-tips/Kleenex)
- Pencil sharpener (not rotary or electric)
- Fine line marker, permanent black (ex. Sharpie)
- Blow Dryer (optional)
- Table salt
- Ruler
- Compass or plastic lid to trace around
- Small water container and water
- Spray bottle with fine mist (optional)
