Art by Andrea Currie. Pieces of Me. Live Music Ft. Brooke Blackburn
A new season and a new show in TORONTO! Once again, I am excited to bring art and community together with another PomonaLIFE event. “Pieces of Me” showcases my newest works and collections, including some past favourites. The afternoon festivities also features live music from Brooke Blackburn of the 2015 Juno nominated jazz band, “Blackburn.”
My art depicts the spiral of how we live and grow in a constant flux of revisiting, revising and renewing ourselves. Like trees, we build on these layers as cycles in our individual growth, making us taller, fuller and wiser.
Andrea’s education includes an Honors English Literature degree from the University of Guelph with emphasis in classical studies and creative writing. She has a Diploma of Education from Newcastle University, Australia. Andrea has travelled the world as both student and teacher, applying her passion for creating, learning and connecting through her artistic expression which she calls PomonaLIFE.
Pomona, a goddess in Roman mythology, nurtured fruit trees, gardens and orchards. She was meticulous in the craft of cultivation. Creators mirror Pomona’s strengths, layering hours, days and sometimes years fostering their craft.
